Condemnation of Shah Noorani Dargah Suicide Attack Balochistan

Dated: November 13, 2016

World Ahlul Bayt Islamic League (WABIL) utterly condemns the violent, criminal, horrific suicide bomb attack yesterday on Dargah Shah Noorani in Balochistan, Pakistan. The attack happened when there were about 600 Sufi Sunni devotees at the shrine. Over 55 people have been killed including women and children. We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the injured.

This despicable inhuman act by cowardly ungodly people, who blow up, maim and kill innocent people is an example of the rampant terrorism that is raging through Pakistan. According to reports, the suicide bomber was a 14 year old boy. Whilst no group has claimed responsibility, the attack has all the hallmarks of takfiri terrorism perpetrated by Lashkar e Jhangvi who hide behind brainwashed children blowing themselves up for unrealistic incentives.

The Pakistani government has been wholly ineffective in dealing with terrorist attacks against Shias, Barelwi Sunnis, Christians, Hindus and other minorities. The terrorists roam the streets freely under the protection of the law enforcement agencies. Rather than blaming neighbouring countries for terrorism, the government must realise that these terrorists are home grown and a result of the Saudi Wahabi vile ideology that is sweeping through Pakistan.

This attack also proves that the terrorists are not Sunnis but extremist takfiris who are the enemies of both Shia and Sunni.

WABIL urges the Pakistani people to purge their country of all terrorist elements, whether unlawful groups, madrasahs or institutional, and to seek cooperation of the international community to do this.
