Question:

As salaamun alaikum, Is it better to pray Sala-ul-lail i.e Namaz-e-shab, at any time my eyes open during the night, which can be in an hour of sleep or maybe 3am or just before fajr azan, or I should get up at a particular time, i.e before fajr azan daily for the same. Kindly advice. JAZAKALLAH

Answer:

The most important thing is to perform Salatul Layl (Namaz e Shab) every
night and never miss it deliberately.
You may perform it any time during the night, when ever you get up. The
best time of it is the last sixth of the night before Fajr, but do not risk
missing it if you are not sure that you will be awake then. Pray it any
time during the night and be sure that you do not miss it.

Question ID 1619 Saturday 5th of July 2014

Question:

Salam. There are time that when I performing my salat, I cant concentrate, a lot of things coming on my mind. Is it a whisper of shaytan? Do my salah is still valid? Sukran and Wassalam.

Answer:

Salah is valid, but the reward is not as when you concentrate in your
Salah. Shaitan who is our worst enemy, tries to divert our attention from
Allah when we pray, so, we have to be very careful. It is recommended to
say in the beginning of the Salah :
=D8=A3=D8=B9=D9=88=D8=B0 =D8=A8=D8=A7=D9=84=D9=84=D9=87 =D9=85=D9=86 =D8=
=A7=D9=84=D8=B4=D9=8A=D8=B7=D8=A7=D9=86 =D8=A7=D9=84=D8=B1=D8=AC=D9=8A=D9=
=85 A'OOTHO BILLAHI MINASHAITAN ARRAJEEM.
There are many Hadeeths teaching us how to concentrate in our Salah, by
remembering that this Salah can be our last Salah, and what will happen to
us when we die, and in our grave, and in Akhirah (Hereafter).
Real Salah must have our heart involved in it and not only our body. Real
Salah is a great link between the human being and his Creator Allah. We
need to perform our Salah as if we see and talk to Allah, because He sees
us always.

Question ID 1561 Friday 27th of June 2014

Question:

As salaam un alaikum, I am a follower of Ayatullah Sistani. There is an ongoing issue of reciting "Aliun "aliuallah" in tashahud of salat... can you please comment on it. I do not recite it. Thank you

Answer:

Adding on of the Tashahhod of Prophet (SAWA) and Ahlul Bayt (AS) is not
allowed and it invalidates Namaz.
Mentioning the name of Ameerul Mo'mineen ( AS) and other Infallibles ( AS)
in Namaz is allowed but not as part of Tashahhud but as a part of Dua e.g.
ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA ALI AMEERUL MO'MINEEN , ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA AL AIMMA AL
TAHEREEN.
