Question:

Al salaam Sorry I forgot to add to my previous question that the city I am going the visit someone in, is a city which I intent to live in in the near future Insha' Allah. Walsalam.

Answer:

=E2=80=8BIf you were living in this city, then left it with the intention t=
o return
to live there, then your Salat there should be full, but if you did not
live there and just you intend to live there in the future, you are a
traveller till you really live there for a period of time which make people
consider you as a resident in that city.
Wassalam.

Question ID 1498 Thursday 12th of June 2014

Question:

Al salaam, I travel to a different cities for work. Almost every day I am in a different city from the city I live in. 1) Is it correct that if you travel for work, then your salat is normal (4 rika) and not short (2 rika)? 2) What if I travel to a different city for 1-2 days for a reason other than work for example to visit someone. Will my salat become short or still be 4 rika since I am used to reading my salat in full every day despite not being in my own city? Al Salam

=E2=80=8BA2. If you travel for some other reason Not work, then your Salat =
becomes
Qasr (Shortened) and you do not fast because you will be a traveller as far
as your stay there is less than ten days.

Question ID 1467 Thursday 5th of June 2014

Question:

assalaamu alaykum, It has just dawned on me that the turba upon which I have prayed the majority of my prayers over the last few years is covered with a sort of varnish. I believe that has prevented direct contact with the actual clay, my reason for thinking this is that the size of the turba has barely decreased over the years, aside from it having a slant on it from the weight of my forehead, furthermore, when I pray with a wet forehead, nothing from the turba becomes stuck to my head from the wetness. Were my prayers valid? Many thanks, with salaams

Answer:

Yes, your prayers are valid. Praying on such Turba is allowed.

Answer:

A1- it is not obligatory to join Zuhr and Asr, or Maghrib and Isha, but it
is allowed and it aims to make performing Namaz more easier on the Muslim
Ummah according the Proohetic Hadeeth which says =D9=83=D9=8A =D9=84=D8=A7 =
=D8=A3=D8=B4=D9=82 =D8=B9=D9=84=D9=89 =D8=A3=D9=85=D9=91=D8=AA=D9=8A ( not
to put a burden on my Ummah).

> Q2-I am housewife and have enough time to pray namaz on time separately,
> what should I do read separately or join two

A2- you can pray separately if are sure that you will not delay or forget
any Namaz.

,
> why is it so?
> Q4-what was practice of Prophet Mohammad (s.w)?

A3. And A4. The Prophet ( SAWA) used to join the Namaz of Zuhr and Asr, as
well as Maghrib and Isha while he was in Madina, and he gave the reason of
joining Namaz. He was also praying separately some times. We are following
the Prophet (SAWA) and we join and separate depending on our situation.
There are many Hadeethes in Sunni books that the Prophet (SAWA) used to
join the Namaz in Madina with out travel or rain or any unusual situation.
You may refer to Saheeh Muslim where you will find a complete section
called ( Baab al Jam' bainal Salatain).

Question ID 1459 Tuesday 3rd of June 2014

Question:

Salam, Respected and beloved sayyid. Taqleed: sayyid Khamenei. I used to go to school and come back while covering 99kms 3 times a week, I was told that I should be doing qasr for zuhrain as I always used to go and come back before dawn. so I did but I've been worried about the issue; I mean was it correct for me to do qasr? If no, that means I have to pay back the salats in full, right? My question is on the time and order/pattern in which I'll offer the salats. What I mean is; must it be during the time for zuhrain and secondly, is it okay to repeat many times in a day so that I'll finish in a short time. Thank you. Salam.

Answer:

As you were going out of your town three times a week for studying, your
Namaz there should be full as well. When you want to re do what you did not
perform properly, you can do the Qaza any time during day and night and in
any order and you can repeat as well, but you must be sure that you have
done all the Prayers which you must perform as Qaza.
Wassalam.
