WABIL Congratulates the world on the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (A.S)

Dated: May 2, 2015

Today, on the Islamic date of 13 Rajab, the World Ahlul Bayt Islamic League gives its heartiest congratulations to the world on the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). Imam Ali was the greatest follower of the Prophet (SAWA). He was also the deputy, cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad (peace upon him and his holy family).

Born ten years before revelation began, Imam Ali, the son of Abu Talib, is the only human being ever to have been born inside the Holy Kaaba, the walls of which miraculously split to allow his mother Fatima bint Assad entry.

Today, the heavens and earth rejoice on the birth of the most loyal friend and brother of the Prophet. Imam Ali was designated the divinely chosen leader of the Muslims after the demise of the Prophet, and indeed he was the best for such a fitting succession.

His life today is just as relevant as it was 1400 years ago. In 2002 the United Nations advised Arab countries to take Imam Ali as an example in establishing systems based on justice and democracy and encouraging knowledge. This was based on the charter of human rights that Imam Ali gave to his governor of Egypt, Malik Ashtar, during his caliphate.

His respect for women, his love and care for children, his personal service to the needy, his bravery in defending the Prophet, his upholding of the human rights of all Muslims and non-Muslims alike, his care for the natural world and the environment, all make him a perfect infallible model to follow.

Felicitations to all on the coming to the world of this saviour.
