Question ID 1720 Friday 18th of July 2014

Question:

In today's day and age who is more a'alam, Ayatollah Khoei or Ayatollah Seestani? I need to know the answer to this question as I am trying to determine whose taqleed I should be doing amongst the two marjas - as a requirement of taqleed being to do taqleed of an a'lam marja.

Answer:

Ayatullah Khoei is the A'lam among all Ulama of his time, and that is why
Ayatullah Sistani verdict to continue on his Taqleed for those who were
doing Taqleed of Ayatullah Khoei. If you have an evidence then that another
Marja' became more knowledgeable than him, you must follow the more
knowledgeable, but if you have no enough evidence ( witness of at least two
of Mujtahids), then you should continue on Taqleed of Ayatullah Khoei,
untill you get full evidence that another Marje' became more knowledgeable
than him.

Question ID 1707 Thursday 17th of July 2014

Question:

I was a muqallid of Ayatullah Khui and in ignorance I changed my taqleed to Ayatullah Seestani at the age of 18. Later after 14 years I found out this was wrong that I was not supposed to change my taqleed to Ayatullah Seestani. What should I do now according to Ayatullah Seestani, should I stay with Ayatullah Seestani or revert back to Ayatullah Khui?

Answer:

If your change of Taqleed was wrong, then you may return to the right
Taqleed of the late A'lam.
