Question:

As salaam Ali Kum I hope you’re well in sha allah? I read on a Shia website that Antiperspirant deodorant sprays , blocks the pores, sweat and moisture under the arms and can cause a barrier during Ghusl. Is this true? A lot of people say it’s because contains aluminium however a lot of the alcohol free brands if not most contain aluminium. What is the ruling on this? Also can a person do immersive Ghusl at home in a bath as I often worry about it my whole body got wet. Someone recommend to do it in a Bath however how would this work because if you put a plug in to fill the bath the water won’t be flowing? Waslaam

Answer:

Wa Alaykum Assalam wr wb
Any material applied on the body and does not make a layer preventing water
from reaching the skin is allowed to apply and it does not harm Ghusl. If
you are sure that a certain material does form a layer stopping water from
reaching the skin, then that layer must be removed before performing Ghusl.
Immersive Ghusl is possible wherever your whole body is under water at
least for a moment.
