Question ID  677  -  Fasting (Sawm)
Salam Aalakum Once again thank you for your time. To the point you made regarding @no slaves these days', how can I do the three kafarah when I cant free a slave? Is there an equivalent or in paying money? There must be a way to do this otherwise the kafarah as a whole is not justified if Allah SWT has ordered us to pay for our mistake but when I want to do the command I cannot? Also can you please let me know of any contacts you have so I can send them the kafarah money? I am trying to pay for my sins and I want to but it seems there is so many barriers to do so.... WSA

Answer:-  If you are doing Taqleed of Ayatullah Sistani, you will not be responsible
for more than just one Kaffara, though doing all the Kaffaras which are
possible is very good, and even obligatory according to many scholars.
If you need help in implementing the Islamic rule in feeding the poor
Mo'mins, we at WABIL can assist you. You may email to wabil@wabil.com

Answer:-  > Q1. if you did break your fast for more than one day do you do the 60 day
> fasting, pay kaffararh for 60 persons and free a slave for each day or only
> one day?
>
A1. The Kaffara is for every day of fasting which was broken deliberately.
Kaffaratul Jam' is only when the fast was broken with an act which is
originally forbidden. If this was repeated in more than one day, then
Kaffaratul Jam' is must for every day separately
.

> Do you know any slaves and how much will it cost?
>
A2. There are no slaves now a days to free.

> Q3. is the 60 days fasting consecutive?
>
A3. Yes, means you must complete one month and start the second month
before you can take rest, then complete the remaining days of the second
month.

Q4. Which days of the year is it haram to fast so I can make sure I do not
> fast on those days?
>
A4. Eid Ul Fitr and Eidul Adhha.

> Q5. Can I send you the kaffarah money and you pay 60 individuals?
>
A5. If you need our help, we can guide you to countries where you can send
the Kaffara for feeding the poor Mo'mins.

Question ID  675  -  Fasting (Sawm)
salam alakum, If someone commits a haram act during ramadan when fasting what is the kaffarah according to Sayed Sistani? I have read paying for 60 poor people to be fed or free slave or 60 days of fasting. He does not state whether it is to do them all or one of them? Can you please clarify? also how much is Kaffarh in English money per day for 60 people? May allah help us in this world and next. Thank you

Answer:-  The Kaffara of breaking the fast deliberately during any day the month of R=
amadhan is either feeding a slave, or fasting two months or feeding sixty po=
or persons. This Kaffara if the fast was broken with lawful food or drink or=
any act which is not originally forbidden, but if the fast was broken by an=
act which is originally forbidden like drinking alcohol, committing fornica=
tion or masturbation etc, then the Kaffara becomes all the three together wh=
ich is called then Kaffaratul Jam'.
Feeding sixty poor person is by giving each of them one meal or at least thr=
ee quarter of Kilogram of any food like rice, dates, wheat etc. the approxim=
ate cost can be around one pound per person if the feeding is in poor countr=
ies like India, Bangladesh or Afghanistan.

Question ID  670  -  Fasting (Sawm)
Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah. Greetings to you sir. My first question is; what is the stance of our ulama on 'Sitta Shawwal' fasting? Does it have any basis? Should we observe it? Second question: Please where can I get a full information on salaah. Thanks.

Answer:-  1. It is not good to fast immediately after the day of Eid, because there
are authentic Hadeeths forbidding fasting the first three days of Shawwaal.
Even many Sunni scholars object on the narration of the fasting of first
six days of Shawaal after Eid.
We do not have any authentic Hadeeths suggesting fasting six days
immediately after Eidul Fitr.
2. This is a link regarding how to pray Salaah which might be useful:
