Question:

I have 2 questions, 1. Is it permissible to participate in funeral of a habitual wine drinker? 2. While in ahram for umra I did not use perfume but While passing through bazaar area there was lot of perfume smell. Is it okay or not?

Answer:

1. It is permissible to participate in a funeral of any Muslim even if he
is habitual of committing major sins unless the participation causes or
means supporting him or approving his bad behaviour.
2. During the state of Ehraam, if you pass through perfume shop or anyone
who has perfume, you need to hold your breath and walk quickly to avoid
smelling the perfume. If you smell the perfume without intention, your Umra
or Hajj are ok.

Question:

Respected Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Musawi saheb, Gentle reminder to reply to my mail dated 2nd November 2016 Salamun Aleykum, Requesting Almighty Allah to grant permission to Hazrat Imam Mahdi (atfs) for his “zahoor”. It is more than two months; I had sought your guidance by asking twelve questions. I had mailed to your personal id and also posted questions on your official id (wabil.com).I had received acknowledgement for my mail from your official address. Sir, I am in dilemma due to your non-reply as I am in touch with number of “Akhbari” in Mumbai and those who question your status. All of them are deadly against you and saying Musawi saheb will never reply point by point to your twelve questions as he is having very soft corner for wealthy Khoja Shia Ithna Ashris. I had attached official proceeding dated 28th October 2016 of Khoja Shia Ithna Asari Jamat Mumbai in my earlier mail. I have complete recording of this proceeding and subsequent utterances by office bearers of Khoja Shia Ithna Jamat Mumbai. In my earlier mail dated 2nd November 2016, I had mentioned that “ulema” are very upset of action taken by Khoja Shia Ithna Ashari Jamat Mumbai against five respectable and honorable preacher personalities of Shia community. I am sure “ulema” must have written to you to address this. I want to prove “Akhbari” and others wrong, hence request your honest and straight forward reply to my twelve questions individually. For the sake of Islam, please respond to my mail dated 2nd November 2016 at the earliest. Khuda Hafiz. Mahdiyar

Answer:

Salamun Alaykum wr wb
This matter has been addressed very clearly many times during my last visit
to India.
There are hundreds of issues concerning our community in many countries and
we cannot keep repeating what we have said as we have to be fair in
addressing hundreds of other issues.

Question:

Do you believe it is important for Sayyids to protect their genealogical records using Ilm Al-Ansab ? If so, why?

Answer:

Yes it is important for Sayyids to maintain and keep their genealogical
records through Elm Al Ansab because of many reasons e.g. Sayyid must be
known and he must avoid taking Fitra or any obligatory Zakat from non
Sayyids.
Poor Sayyids are entitled to half the Khums (Sahm Sadat) while non Sayyids
are not allowed to utilise Sahm Sadat. Sayyids should respect in their
behavior the greatness of their family tree and and their great grandfather
the Prophet sawa and Ahlul Bayt a.s.
