Question ID  1562  -  Food & Drinks
As salaam un alaikum, I am an Asian, but working in Africa. We generally buy frozen boneless or full chicken to cook and eat. Fresh and live chicken is also available, however it takes extra time and effort to buy the same. Recently our local Maulana has commented 2 things: first that we cannot buy such boneless chicken and consume it. Secondly he says, when live chicken is available, we cannot consume frozen chicken. I am a follower of Ayatullah Sistani. Kindly advice Jazakallah Jazakallah

Answer:-  The main condition is that the chicken must be slaughtered in the right
Islamic way, which makes it Halal. It does not matter whether it is frozen
or not as far as it is Halal when it was slaughtered.
Wassalam.
