Question ID  611  -  Fasting (Sawm) -  2013-08-05 06:00:02
Salam. When there is a debate with our sunni brothers regrading breaking of fast, we normally refer to Quran 2:187. Few days back I have a debate with one of my sunni friend, he replied as below when I referred the Ayah 2:187. Quote: his is your misunderstanding or some group of people are trying to misguide you... Rasul (S) told us to follow 2 things... not only the Quran... and the verse had been proved that it was mentioned the starting of the night.... the sinking of the plate of the whole sun\\\'s part is very much related with that... in every ahadeeth the sun set and the waqt before maghreeb is clearly mentioned.... and Rasul (S) and the sahaba prayed maghreeb after having the iftar... 1400 years is not a very long time... all the history and refferences are well kept in madina and makka... Imam bukhari started to collect and filed them after a long time of the wafaat of the Prophet (S) but the docs and evidences were still there... if you only take the Quran without following the Rasul (S) sunnah there are confirm posibilities that you may become khawareej... Hazrat Ali (R) killed the khawareej by his own hands.... Lets not try to implement anything beyond the sunnah..... May Allah guide us all and forgive us all.... ***see every refference of any saheeh hadeeth, see the tafseer ibn kaseer... tafseer at tabaree... tafseer al qutubi.... if not satisfied then May Allah help us.... if we try to follow anything other than sunnah... then i\\\'m affraid it\\\'s not Islam at all.... Unquote. What do you say? Regards

Answer:-  No doubt Quran and Sunnah must be followed, but the big question is : from where you can get the real Sunnah among thousands and thousands of fabricated and real Hadeeths ? Who know which Hadeeths are the authentic ones and which are the fabricated? Following Ahlul Bayt (AS) leads us to the real Sunnah, and leaving them will leave us away from the real Sunnah. That is why the authentic Hadeeth orders all Muslim to keep always following Quran and Ahlul Bayt (AS) كتاب الله وعترتي أهل بيتيbecause they are the best who know the real Sunnah and real meanings of Quran.
