Question ID 648 - Fasting (Sawm) - 2013-08-02 23:00:01 |
As per Surat Al Baqarah, whoever is on Travel should fast for equal number of other days, this is because Allah does not intend hardship for his people. In today's modern world travel has become very easy and convenient through aeroplanes and airconditioned vehicles that it does not put one under any hardship, however this is subjective. Having said that if one feels that travel does not cause any hardship and he can observe fast as usual, will his fast be valid. If no, can you please provide the rationale pertinent to the todays context of high speed and luxury modes of transportation.
Look forward to your guidance on the above subject.' |

Answer:- In Islam, we have to follow the orders of Allah (SWT) with out any input or
suggestions from us as the Hadeeth says:(=C7=E1=C5=D3=E1=C7=E3 =E5=E6 =C7=
=E1=CA=D3=E1=ED=E3 )(Islam is the
submitting to the will of Allah).
Fasting is not allowed during travelling, any travelling, with out any
condition of being tiring or luxurious travel. Quran is very clear that any
travel means no fasting, and nothing to confine it to tiring travel only.
We follow what Allah (SWT) orders us and we are sure that this is the right
path.
WAssalam.
